What is PEP?
PEP is Post-Exposure Prophylaxis, meaning that it is taken after a possible exposure to HIV. It is a month-long set of medications that can reduce a person’s risk of HIV infection drastically. It is important to get PEP within 72 hours of exposure – otherwise, it has a much lower rate of success.
