Here in Western New York, community members have been meeting and working with the New York State Department of Health to implement specific points of the Ending the Epidemic 3 point plan (see points below). We welcome all community members and interested organizations to join us in our efforts to end new infections of HIV in Western New York.

The three point plan:

1). Identify persons who remain undiagnosed and link them to health care by making HIV testing truly routine.

2). Link and retain persons diagnosed with HIV to health care. Sustain HIV+ patients on anti-retroviral therapy to maximize viral suppression. Viral suppression increases the health outcomes and prevents further transmission.

3). Provide Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) to negative individuals in order to prevent transmission of HIV.
