So, you’ve gotten tested and are waiting for your results.
What happens if I test positive?
Early detection of HIV infection means that you will start medicines right away, which will control the virus and help prevent you from feeling sick. Going on medicine, telling people (or not telling people), and all this information can be really scary and anxiety-inducing.
Early testing and treatment is good. It means that you may be more likely to reach undetectable status, meaning that you will be unable to expose others to HIV as long as you keep taking your medicines and remain in care.
